Position Summary:
The Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington seeks a motivated Development Director who will provide leadership along with the ability to secure monetary support at all levels for a newly formed multi-disciplinary arts center.  The candidate will establish a realistic set of goals along with an executable plan for all fundraising, development and stewardship activities.

About the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington:

One of the newest contemporary cultural organizations in Ohio, the MAC calls home a beautifully renovated 1914 school building in the heart of Worthington. The MAC presents and promotes the performing, visual and digital arts reflective of the living arts of the region.  The MAC is a 20,000 square foot multi-disciplinary arts center, offering a series of performances, exhibitions and classes along with a multitude of expressive opportunities and experiences through both ticketed and free events.  With a 213 seat theatre, exhibition gallery, four classrooms, a digital imaging and dance studio, art lives and breathes on every floor and within every space of the transformed, historic, Worthington High School.

Essential Functions:
Prepare, define and prioritize development goals and action plan to achieve those goals
Plan, manage and implement all aspects of fundraising and development including major and planned gifts, direct mail, special events, sponsorship, foundation, corporate, government, membership and grants
Cultivation of existing relationships with current capital donors to continue interest and support in programming
Identify, cultivate and solicit various levels of prospects through different streams of communication
Database management and constituent data management along with reporting of donors and prospects
Prepare related correspondence and collateral material
Expand and explore donor benefit and membership program
Work with and develop new relationships with community partners
Create and maintain an ongoing stewardship program involving Board, staff, committees and community volunteers
Participate, as part of a decision-making and planning team, in defining overall Center goals and helping to support programming strategies to achieve them
Ability to effectively manage and develop budgets
Serve as staff leader of Development Committee
Aptitude for creating grant proposals to meet programmatic need
Assist in recruitment of new Board members

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2-3 years professional development/fundraising experience. The individual must be goal-oriented and mission-driven. Candidate must be comfortable and successful working independently and function with minimal supervision.  A personality type that remains flexible and creative while maintaining the drive needed for a new organization are essential qualities to possess.  The applicant must have a demonstrated dedication to the nonprofit sector and the development field, with a proven fundraising track record.  Ability to motivate and guide volunteers is essential.  Must have experience working with fundraising software.  The Director of Development reports to the Executive Director and works in partnership with the Peggy R. McConnell Arts Center of Worthington's Board and Development Committee.
