Summary of Duties	The Development Officer will report to the Director of Development in the Development Office. A primary objective is to raise funds for The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College and  to assist in building and maintaining good rapport with alumni, faculty and friends of the college/university. The individual will work closely with the Director of Development to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects for the Comprehensive Campaign targeted at raising $10,000,000 to earn the match offered by the Next Generation Challenge. This is a 2 year position intended to last through December 31, 2012.
Qualifications	Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  1-2 years previous fundraising or equivalent experience required. Candidate must have excellent writing skills, computer literacy, and a high attention to detail.  Must have proven experience working on several projects concurrently while meeting deadlines, must be able to work evening and weekend hours. Leading candidates will exhibit a commitment to diversity, demonstrate proven ability to coordinate and supervise work effectively with the many constituencies in a university/college environment. Confidentiality is a very important aspect of this position, especially as it relates to donor and alumni records.
Salary	$32,260.80 to $35,000 annually (A comprehensive benefit package is included).
