Development Coordinator

Organization:  Ohio Business Week Foundation, a statewide non-profit organization that provides high school students with a unique, hands-on experience with business and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities:  By wearing multiple hats in our quaint Grandview office, you will:

Raise funds through grants to support the program and Foundation.
Maintain existing grant relationships by communicating with contributors;
Identify new funding opportunities through research and networking;
Make initial contact with potential corporate supporters and initiate dialogue; and
Write grants to solicit new funding and conduct appropriate follow-up.

Implement public relations  and Marketing activities to promote Ohio Business Week.
Represent the Foundation in a variety of community partnership capacities;
Manage and update the Foundation's web site www.ohiobusinessweek.org;
Oversee the writing and publication of OBW News;
Write and distribute appropriate news releases;
Oversee the design of student profiles;
Track media exposure throughout the state; and
Assist in the distribution of direct mail.

Recruit participants & volunteers for Ohio Business Week.
Create promotional materials and informational guides;
Assist at tradeshows, conferences, school presentations, etc. to gain broader exposure;
Schedule in-school presentations to raise the awareness of the program; and
Communicate with educators and alumni to seek their involvement.

Assist with program implementation and execution
Provide necessary support and guidance to volunteers at the program; and
Duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Program Director.

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in marketing, journalism, communications, English or public relations;
Excellent writing and editing skills;
Superior research skills;
Fundraising experience a plus;
Web design experience with knowledge of Dreamweaver and HTML preferred;
Layout and print design experience;
Media relations experience preferred;
Public speaking experience;
Basic understanding of business;
Commitment to attend all OBW programs; and
A valid Ohio driver's license and a reliable automobile.
