JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director of Development, the Director of the Annual Fund is responsible for helping to significantly advance the fund raising related activities of St. Charles Preparatory School by developing overall goals and strategies for securing annual gifts to the School.  Working with the Principal, the Director of Development, and the Director of Alumni and Public Relations, the Director of the Annual Fund assists in supervising and directing the activities of the development office.  This position is expected to use personal judgment in carrying out routine duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Work with the Director of Development in the preparation of an annual budget for
     the Development Office.  
2.     Work with the Director of Development in the preparation of annual fund-raising
     goals and objectives within the operating budget.
3.     In conjunction with the Director of Development, lead the advancement and
     implementation of annual giving strategies, fund raising programs, activities, and
     timelines to solicit gifts from alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, students, and
     other constituents.  Must possess vision and leadership to develop and move the
     annual giving program to new levels.
4.     Develop, manage, and maintain an ongoing portfolio of 150 to 200 Annual Fund prospects who have the ability and capacity to consider a current annual gift to St. Charles.  Candidate will maintain independent responsibility for developing and executing solicitation strategies for each assigned prospect.
 5.     Conduct 150 to 200 personal visits throughout the fiscal year, 20 per month,
     over ten of the twelve months of the fiscal year.
6.     Conduct Peer Screening sessions with targeted alumni yielding names of
     prospective donors or current donors who would have the capacity to consider
     increasing their annual support to eventual Cardinal Society within a given fiscal
     year.  
7.     In conjunction with the Student Council Moderator and the Director of Alumni and Public Relations, oversee other fundraising efforts like Reunion Giving, the Cardinal Walk, and the Parents and Alumni Annual Fund including preparation of written solicitations, marketing materials, and volunteer management.  
8.     Utilize, develop, and implement the segmentation strategies and tools to be used
for annual giving direct mail, internet, and phonathon campaigns.
9.     Collaborate with the Director of Alumni and Public Relations on marketing
     efforts to increase alumni participation rate.
10.     Grow and build the Cardinal Society which includes stewarding the current donors, planning recognition events, and creating marketing efforts to encourage participation.
11.     Assist in the creation of reports to track annual giving appeals and Annual Fund
progress, and serve as a point person for questions regarding annual giving best
practices.
12.     Collaborate with the Director of Alumni and Public Relations regarding content management on the Saint Charles giving websites.
13.      In consultation with the Principal, the Director of Development, and the Director
     of Alumni and Public Relations, promote the mission and image of St. Charles
     Preparatory School.
14.     Assist the Director of Development in the preparation of an annual report to be     
submitted to the Principal and Advisory Board on the state of the Development
Office and monthly reports at regularly scheduled Advisory Board meetings.
15.     Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and
     development to keep abreast of the latest trends in education fundraising.
16.     Assist Principal with various projects as requested.
