This is your opportunity to join Nicole and many other AFP members who have benefited from participating in the Central Ohio AFP Mentoring Program. Mentees as well as Mentors find the program extremely valuable as you commit to learn from each other for one year. Please consider joining this important effort to raise your level of professionalism through collaboration with colleagues in fundraising.
Participation as a Mentor is available to members of AFP Central Ohio Chapter who have at least five years demonstrated expertise and experience in several areas of fund-raising. Participation as a Mentee is available to Chapter members who have worked as a paid development professional at a nonprofit organization for a minimum of least one year and are willing to volunteer for a role on an AFP committee. Involvement will help you build a supportive network of fundraising colleagues.
New Mentor/Mentee pairings will be assigned based on the best matches of skill sets and needs as presented in the applications. Members who participated in last year's program are welcome to join us again, but need to submit an application for this year's program. The kick off gathering is scheduled for a breakfast meeting on Thursday, January 14, 2010.
Please sign up to be a Mentor or a Mentee for the 2010 calendar year by visiting our website at www.CentralOhioAFP.org and completing the Mentor or Mentee applications by November 25, 2009.
~ Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction. ~

“I have really enjoyed being a mentor in AFP’s mentoring program these past three years. As a mentor, I spend about one to two hours every other month with my mentee, working with them toward their goals and objectives. I have had the pleasure of meeting new people and becoming colleagues and friends with my mentees. I have been so impressed with my colleagues from AFP who have served as mentors. There is close to a collective 300 years of experience from those who mentored last year! If you have less than five years of experience in development, you should absolutely take advantage of becoming a mentee. If you have more than ten years experience, please volunteer to become a mentor. Either way, it is a terrific experience!”
