SUMMARY:Overcoming the "Ick Factor": Rethinking Brand in the Nonprofit Sector | Presented by Pam Georgiana
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\nImagine a future where: \n\nDonors immediately understand and resonate with your mission.\nVolunteers feel a deep connection to your cause.\nEvery interaction\, both online and in-person\, reinforces the impact of your work.\n\nThis is the transformative power of brand strategy for nonprofits and purpose-driven organizations. \nDon’t let the “ick” factor keep you from embracing the power of brand. \nYour brand is how your organization (and therefore your mission) is perceived in the marketplace. \nWhen your brand is clear\, consistent\, and mission-aligned: \n\nYour message resonates more deeply.\nYour marketing drives meaningful engagement.\nYour fundraising becomes more effective.\nYour impact grows stronger and more sustainable.\n\nWithout a clear brand strategy\, even the most established nonprofit can struggle. Because if potential partners can’t quickly understand your mission\, they move on. And if your messaging is inauthentic\, existing supporters lose trust. \n🎙️ About the Speaker\n \n  \nREGISTER\n📝 Agenda: \n11:30 am – 12:00 pm | Networking \n12:00 pm – 1:00 pm | Program \n1:00 pm – 1:15 pm | Q&A \n👉Approved for 1.25 CFRE credits. \n⚠️Due to space limitations\, registration is limited to first come\, first served. \n📋Pre-registration required \n🎟️ Members: $20 | Guests $35 \n✳️The first 30 minutes are dedicated to networking. The session will begin promptly at 12:00pm. \nBoxed lunch will be provided by Freedom A La Cart!

SUMMARY:Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Join Us for Central Ohio AFP’s Inaugural Book Club!\nREGISTER \nWe’re excited to announce a new program for the Central Ohio fundraising community: a book club! Gather together with your fellow fundraisers to discuss books (and other publications) that inspire\, educate\, and encourage. \nFor our first book\, join us in reading The Serviceberry\, by Robin Wall Kimmerer. This extended essay by an Indigenous scientist and author is a thought-provoking examination of reciprocity\, gift economy\, and gratitude. It challenges us\, as representatives of the public sector\, to consider the ethics of wealth distribution and how community fills in the gaps left by government systems. \nWe will be gathering to talk about this first selection on March 27th\, 2026 at the Main Library. The conversation will be moderated by Natalie Dunn-Billings\, current VP of Finance for the chapter. This will be a casual\, round-table discussion and all are welcome to participate. \nRegistration is free\, but space is limited\, so please reserve your spot below. \nREGISTER \nFAQs:\nQ: Do I need to buy the book?\nA: You do not need to buy the book; you do not need to bring a copy to the group discussion. You can borrow it from a friend\, share with a fellow fundraiser\, or get a copy from your local library! If you would like to participate in the book club but are not able to access a copy of the book\, please reach out to Natalie Dunn-Billings at natdunn17@gmail.com. \nQ: Can I still come if I don’t read the book?\nA: If you don’t have a chance to finish the book before March 27th\, you are still welcome to join us; however\, you may miss out on some of the substance of the conversation and will definitely get some spoilers. \nQ: What should I bring?\nA: If you have a copy of the book and would like to reference it\, feel free to bring it along. Otherwise\, all you need is yourself and your favorite FLD (Fun Little Drink). There is a coffee shop on the main floor of the Main Library if you need to grab something before you chat. \nQ: If I want to buy the book\, where should I get it?\nA: You can find a copy of The Serviceberry at your local bookstore\, or if you prefer to shop online\, you can get it on www.Bookshop.org – they give money back to local bookstores!

This presentation will talk about best practices for nonprofit marketing in building credibility for organization awareness\, interest\, and ultimately donor action. \nAbout the speakers \nAs Client Experience Director at Approach Marketing\, Julie Daubenmire oversees a portfolio of nonprofit\, healthcare\, association\, education\, and cause-related clients to ensure PR\, marketing\, and digital tactics are all working together to communicate missions to stakeholders and ultimately\, drive organization goals. \nJulie graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations\, and has a Masters of Public Administration from Ohio University. SUMMARY:From Zero to Capital Campaign in Less than 5 Years- A Case Study for using major gifts techniques in a small shop setting | Presented by Jodi Bopp\, Regina Alhassan
DESCRIPTION:From Zero to Capital Campaign in Less than 5 Years shares a case study of how one organization launched a philanthropy program with nothing and successfully concluded a $2-million\, 27-month capital campaign in less than five years. How? By relentlessly focusing on top prospects who had both capacity and desire to make a difference. Launching a major fundraising initiative – whether a capital campaign or otherwise – can be daunting. Too often\, organizations feel like they don’t have enough donors or other resources to successfully complete the work. But is that true? Through sharing one organization’s journey\, Regina Alhassan and Jodi Bopp will walk participants through how it is possible to go from zero to campaign relatively quickly. Participants will learn: \n\nHow to identify the tools you might already have in your toolbox of success\nThe value of research and customized engagement with the best prospects\nHow to look at your donor base in a potentially new way\nThe value of a gift table\n\nAbout the speaker: \nRegina Alhassan Is the CEO of ResearchPRO\, a leading authority in prospect development and fundraising strategies. With a proven track record in identifying billions of dollars in potential funding\, Regina is widely known as “Money” in the nonprofit sector due to her ability to help organizations achieve bold fundraising goals. She is also a talented award-winning artist\, writer\, and philanthropist\, and has shared her insights on philanthropy as a TEDx Speaker. Regina’s passion for empowering nonprofit leaders and her commitment to making the science of fundraising accessible to all continue to make a significant impact in the industry. \nJodi Bopp is thrilled to be leading the Advancement Team at I Am Boundless\, Inc. Five years ago\, Jodi returned to social services and bringing with her the best practices from larger philanthropic organizations. Jodi is committed to the profession of non-profit fundraising\, and is called upon frequently as a speaker\, trainer and mentor to others in the profession.
