WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
New Directions Career Center seeks a mission-oriented Development Director to effectively grow, implement, and manage the organization’s fund development goals and strategies. The role is a unique opportunity to build and execute an organizational fund development plan and raise awareness of the critical and impactful work that New Directions does in the Central Ohio community.
The successful candidate will have strong marketing, relationship management, and fund development experience. The Development Director will report to the Executive Director and will continuously enhance the organization’s ability to meet the strategic objective of achieving financial sustainability.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
The Development Director has responsibility for:
Developing, implementing, and measuring/evaluating a long-term fund development plan that achieves the organization’s strategic objective of increasing financial sustainability
Managing and coordinating agency special events
Managing the organization’s donor and volunteer engagement strategy with an inclusion lens to expand the pool of donors/volunteers
Overseeing the marketing, communications, and brand management for New Directions to extend our reach in supporting women and increasing support for NDCC
Fund Development Plan
Drives the development, implementation and evaluation of an organizational fund development plan that includes strategies for grants, sponsorships, solicitation of major gifts, planned giving, events, giving campaigns, endowment fund, and prospective donors
Conducts data-driven analysis and reporting of fund development plan performance
Manages and coordinates special events, including the annual Women of Promise event
Organizes and facilitates event committees by working closely with the Chair, monitoring action items and engaging committee members to ensure successful event outcomes
Assists in preparation of budgets for events
Tracks and reports on event outcomes including net revenue and cost/benefit analysis
Coordinates contracts with event vendors and in-kind donors
Manages organization event compliance
Donor and Volunteer Engagement and Tracking
Develops and cultivates positive and inclusive relationships with diverse community, civic and corporate leaders
Builds and maintains effective relationships with staff, stakeholders, and members of the Board of Directors
Utilizes and manages agency’s fundraising technology platforms including Bloomerang, Classy, Constant Contact, and website in order to maximize donor relations
Provides reporting and analysis from agency’s CRM
Marketing and Communications
Coordinates all marketing and communications needs related to the fund development plan including event marketing, outcome publications, and donor outreach materials
Manages contractors and volunteers who support marketing and communications
Recruits volunteers (non-board members) to assist with marketing and fundraising activities and committees
Promotes deep appreciation for and sensitivity to diverse stakeholders’ cultures in all communications activities
Ensures compliance with brand guidelines within web, social media, and digital fundraising/marketing platforms
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; Marketing or Communication degree preferred
Demonstrated experience leading fundraising activities with a record of strong performance meeting and exceeding targets
Three or more years’ of experience in non-profit fund development
Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
Strong passion for the Mission and support for Core Values of New Directions, including a deep commitment to New Directions’ equity and inclusion focus
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Must work well in a small, fast-paced organization – both independently and as part of a cohesive diverse team
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Brand management experience
Strong technology skills – proficiency working within CRM/donor management platforms, Windows 10, Microsoft applications, Google applications, remote meeting platforms
