OBJECTIVE: The Corporate Relations Senior Manager is responsible for raising vital philanthropic support for COSI through intentional relationship management of corporate prospects and donors, and engagement with fundraising strategy for programs and initiatives that appeal to businesses and corporations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Ideal candidate is a donor-centric fundraiser and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high-energy and fast-paced work environment. An organized, yet flexible and adaptable, individual with experience working collaboratively, building partnerships, and taking initiative is essential. A high degree of professionalism and comfort in the corporate and philanthropic communities are essential. Financial literacy and an ability to track, analyze, and share fundraising metrics and financial data in an accurate and comprehensive way is critical. A bachelor’s degree, advanced fundraising knowledge, and at least five years of professional fundraising experience are required. Project management experience, or experience working closely with program leaders or project managers in previous roles, is preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:
A. Solicit support from a portfolio of 100-150 businesses and corporations in order to achieve an assigned annual contributed revenue goal. Identify and qualify prospects, thoughtfully cultivate managed relationships, undertake strategic solicitations and/or prepare customized proposals, and provide excellent stewardship to assigned donors. Provide relationship coordination and support as needed for Philanthropy leadership, the COSI executive team and board development activity.
B. Manage implementation of fundraising strategy for select COSI programs and initiatives with high participation from corporate donors. Work collaboratively with Philanthropy and COSI Team to ensure the achievement of program/initiative fundraising goals. Attend institutional project team meetings and share relevant information with Philanthropy department. Manage prospect lists, inform development of outreach materials, solicit support, lead partner engagement and activations, and organize comprehensive stewardship plans managed programs/initiatives.
C. Develop a rich understanding of COSI’s mission, vision, strategic plan, and portfolio of giving opportunities including giving programs, sponsorable assets, recognition levels, and benefits to ensure consistency among COSI’s donor programs.
D. Work collaboratively with the Director of Diversity and Equity to identify opportunities to increase the diversity of COSI’s donor base and to further the organization’s commitment to expand COSI’s brand to engage more diverse audiences.
E. Maintain a high standard for recording moves management in Raiser’s Edge and coordinating with other solicitors/supporting relationships.
F. Track and report progress on accountabilities and established financial goals.
G. Support general COSI operations through participation in meetings as appropriate.
H. Serve as an example to other COSI Team Members and Volunteers in matters of appearance, attitude, and performance in a manner best serving COSI paid and volunteer Team Members and Guests.
I. In accordance with COSI’s Guest Services Strategy and as opportunities present themselves, provide excellence in Guest Services by assuring Guest safety, using courtesy to drive each Guest interaction, by delivering the COSI show, and by keeping operations efficient.
J. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Development, Organizational Giving.
