Position: Development Associate

The network includes two high-performing middle schools and two high-performing elementary schools. We are seeking a Development Associate to join our network.

USN schools serve students in grades K-8 and have a robust alumni services program.
USN 8th graders regularly gain acceptance to the top high school programs in the city.
Thoughtfully creates language for appeals and acknowledgements.
Manages the logistics of the relationship with donors who make and fulfill recurring pledges such that renewing a recurring gift is an available and welcome option.
Executes the mid-year, end of year, and annual acknowledgements of all donors and volunteers.
Associate is responsible for input, output, and function of the DonorPerfect database and all interfacing programs.
Reconcile DonorPerfect information to ensure accurate reporting through monthly scorecards and to outside vendors
Accurately records prospect/donor information, gifts, pledges, and contacts in the database; executes the processing of pledges and monthly giving.
Accurately creates various constituent lists, weblinks, and regular reports for the Development Team.
Conducts and maintains donor and grant research as needed.
Updates Mailchimp and other platforms with accurate donor information
Supports the CAO in completing 990 reporting annually.
Coordination of Program Needs
Works with school based staff to ensure that the various programs and opportunities for enrichment and afterschool are funded and staffed, annually and in a timely manner.
Establishes and maintains an organized system of tracking grants and accompanying records, donor files, budgets, and solicitations.
Oversees the grant calendar, ensuring deadlines for submission are met by the appropriate team member.
Writes grants and coordinates the Development Team to resource the above programs and opportunities.
Crafts compelling donor solicitation letters and articles for campaigns that will fund these programs.
Plans and executes an annual day of giving (#United4Scholars).
Supports with annual valuation of sponsorship packages and its presentation to prospective and current sponsors in coordination with event goals.
Goes above and beyond to ensure that USN delivers the full package of benefits to committed sponsors.
Supports the ADD with annual fundraising events.
Communication and Marketing
Ensures Community Rewards are up to date and active.
Supports ADD with the creation and distribution of the Annual Report Card.
Ensures materials needed for various development activities including tours are requested and prepared in advance.
Processes Development Team purchase requests, invoices and receipts.
Tracks fundraising costs and special events budgets; records in appropriate campaign areas in database.
Manages the creation and mailing of development-related solicitation communications .
Other duties as assigned by the Associate Development Director

United Schools Network will consider hiring a full-time Development Associate with the following characteristics and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; 1-2 year minimum of fundraising experience preferred (internships qualify).
Technological proficiency in Google, Microsoft Office, and CRMs, especially DonorPerfect.

Terms of Employment
This position will begin immediately. The starting salary for this position is $38,000, benefits are competitive, and employees are eligible to participate in Ohio’s School Employees Retirement System (SERS). United Schools Network is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
