Member Communications Chair
Position Title: Member Communications Chair
Capacity: Board Member
Reports to: Vice President of Communications
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizes and chairs Committee meetings as needed
- Recruits and enlists committee members; monitors the work of volunteers to ensure timely completion of assignments as needed
- In collaboration with the Vice President of Communications, develops and implements a one-year member communications plan for the Chapter designed to ensure members are aware of Chapter resources, know how to use them, and feel empowered to get the most value from their membership
- Provides content to the Chapter administrator for e-blasts and newsletters using existing resources such as AFP Global website, updates from board meetings, updates and reports from other board members and committees, etc
- Chapter Administrator will produce and disseminate chapter newsletter and social media posts; Member Communications Chair will ensure there is member curated content for newsletters and social media on a regular basis (i.e. yearly communications plan above)
- Works in conjunction with Chapter Administrator to ensure member-curated content is available on the website as necessary, including ensuring that members know how to access an updated events calendar
- Serves as a resource for National Philanthropy Day to facilitate member communications as needed
- Develops and submits a budget to the Treasurer by designated deadline; monitors committee income and expenditures
- Provides timely and up-to-date content to Chapter Administrator for website and digital publications
- Ensure there is a succession plan to cultivate a new chair to take his/her place as needed
- Celebrates success; ensures that celebration includes expressions of gratitude to volunteers
- Adheres to policies and Board responsibilities as adopted by the Board of Directors
- Upon leaving office, transfers all records to successor
