So you want to be a consultant, or learn what it takes to become one?  Join us to learn from a panel of experienced consultants and hear how they got their start, understand their roles and responsibilities, and find out what skills they feel are needed to succeed.

“The Power of Consultants”

Consultants provide a wealth of knowledge, experience, and expertise to an organization, yet navigating the organizational and interpersonal dynamics of engaging and hiring consultants can be tricky.  Examples: how do you ask your board for help without appearing as lacking skills, or if your board suggests a consultant how do you personally respond?  Hear from a panel of professionals who have experienced both challenges and benefits from consultants.  They will relate these issues to organizations big and small, executive directors, and board members.  In your current role or in your future, understanding the power of consultants could impact your career.  Learn when it’s time to call on an expert, how to temper expectations, and advocate for outside help.

AFP Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Cancellations received in writing by the RSVP deadline are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations received after the deadline will not be eligible for refunds as we will have already made a commitment to purchase your meal. You may, however, send a substitute guest.
