Over the past decade, donor advised funds offered by community foundations and commercial gift funds have become popular philanthropic tools for donors. To this point, recent growth of Columbus Foundation’s assets is in large part a result of donors opening advised funds. And, it is predicted that Fidelity Charitable, the donor advised fund vehicle for the brokerage firm, will soon become the nation’s largest nonprofit.
