What’s New in AFP – Your Membership Benefits

Presenter – Val Lay, Director of AFP Chapter Services for Central US

Our regional director, Val Lay, a former central Ohio chapter member and leader, joins us for a brief discussion of what’s new in AFP International membership benefits.  You may be aware of the resources available from the Central Ohio Chapter, but there is so much more!  Val will share information about AFP and the advantages of being a member, resources available to members from AFP International, as well as AFP updates and trends.  Whether you are a current member or considering membership, this is a great session to learn more how AFP is helping lead the fundraising professions and educate development professionals.

Noon-1:00PM

With Affinity – We All Fit In

Central Ohio AFP offers a robust Affinity Group program for members and non-members to connect you with other fundraisers in Central Ohio who share SUCCESSES and challenges similar to your own.

The Chapter’s Affinity Groups

  • Enhance members’ experience by providing benefits tailored to their specific interests and needs
  • Support diversity and inclusion to attract, engage and retain a diverse membership base.  Affinity Groups provide AFP members and non-member fundraising professionals with focused networking and professional development opportunities.

Join us to meet some of our AFP Affinity Group leaders and current group members in an interactive educational workshop luncheon. Speakers will share their thoughts about the following groups:

NextGen (for fundraisers 35 and under)

Faith-Based

Small Shops

Higher Education

Health Care/Medical Organizations

Enjoy your lunch and be part of the interactive educational short panel discussion before breaking out into small groups to meet with your peers at similar Affinity Group roundtables. You will share best-practices, challenges, and laugh at odd commonalities! The interaction this day is great if you’re in more than one affinity group or thinking of another affinity group we could create.
