Sr. Advisor – Area Development

Responsible for the development and implementation of meaningful acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship strategies to grow giving and meet or exceed revenue goals with St. Jude donors and supporters in a geographic area. Includes activating, supporting and inspiring high value volunteers and committees to identify and acquire donors through relationships, events, and activations. Manages a blended portfolio of leadership annual and corporate donors as well as leadership volunteers with responsibility of retaining and growing donor giving through the creation of individual stewardship communications, strategic personal cultivation, and the maintenance of key, high-level donor and volunteers relationships in pursuit of revenue.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Uses interpersonal and sales skills to create and build relationships with volunteers, and donors primarily through face-to-face interaction and strategic communication, to recruit new donors and grow existing relationships, including referrals.
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve defined KPIs. Monitor progress, assess results and measure success against KPIs pivoting where necessary and/or recognizing key learnings. Communicate insights to the appropriate teams or individuals.
3. Uses fundraising knowledge to provide support, motivation, direction, and resources for fundraising initiatives to volunteers and donors through various communication channels, including personal visits, written correspondence, and electronic communication.
4. Develops meaningful and effective cultivation and stewardship strategies to acquire and enhance the philanthropy from St. Jude donors involved in key revenue programs.
5. Relies upon experience, fundraising knowledge, development skills and understanding of strategic goals to make judgments regarding the appropriate steps in the ongoing cultivation of key donors.
6. Builds, maintains, and manages a blended portfolio of 150 corporate, individual leadership annual donors and leadership volunteers.
7. Collaborates with program owners in Development to ensure a high-level of donor and volunteer relationship management. Includes communicating regularly to enhance and knowledge of programs, collaborating on individual performance metrics and coordinating analysis of the financial impact of stewardship efforts.
8. High-level understanding of the data system to analyze and identify appropriate next steps in an effective stewardship strategy and to communicate key details of the donor relationship. Maintains the integrity of the donor database through careful management of a large volume of donor records and ensures the accurate recording of all donor interaction in order to provide the infrastructure necessary for analysis.
9. Provides meaningful touchpoints to donors, including personal notes, articles, invitations and other outreach in an accurate, relevant and timely fashion. relevant and timely.
10. Represents ALSAC-St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in all areas in such a manner as to reflect positively on the hospital and our fundraising organization.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated negotiating and listening skills
Donor/customer oriented with excellent writing, telephone, and organizational skills
Knowledge ordinarily acquired through a Bachelor’s degree or more than 6 years of experience
