Join Susan Black, CFRE as she leads a hands-on workshop session based on her new book, Help! They Want Me to Fundraise! Bring your CEO, Board Chair, Development Committee Chair and any other key people who help lead fundraising activities for your organization.  This inspiring session will help everyone understand the basics– from learning the key building blocks of a successful fundraising program to identifying specific steps you can take to implement a program, you’ll all leave understanding how to assess your organizations’ readiness to embrace fundraising, as well as the primary vehicles used by professionals.

 

As a result of this training, participants will:

• Learn the four building blocks of fundraising success.

• Assess their organization’s strengths and weaknesses as it pertains to the building blocks.

• Create a list of areas that need to be addressed immediately to improve their fundraising outcomes.

• Discover key ideas for implementing those building blocks in their own organizations.

 

Central Ohio AFP will provide beverages and dessert– so just bring your lunch!

About the Speaker:

 

Consultant, author, and trainer Susan Black, CFRE, brings over 20 years of fundraising, nonprofit leadership, and communications experience to her role as Principal of Allene Professional Fundraising. Susan has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in political science from Mary Baldwin College (Staunton, VA) and the University of Richmond, respectively. Her career in development began as a Prospect Researcher at Marietta College (Marietta, OH) and she went on to gain experience as a Development Director at Easter Seals of Central Ohio and the Epilepsy Foundation of Central Ohio before serving as Vice-President of Advancement for five years at St. Vincent Family Centers in Columbus, OH. She founded Allene Professional Fundraising in 2008 to bring her expertise to the wider nonprofit community and help struggling nonprofits identify strategies that will allow them to reach their potential. Susan is a certified Master Trainer with the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has spoken at conferences and seminars in the midwest and mid-South as well as providing training for boards and staff for many nonprofit clients. Susan is consistently rated as an outstanding speaker. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Kiwanis Club of Columbus. Her 2014 book Help!
